Stargazers' Summer Festival

Stargazer Society is having a summer festival during this coming Monday to Thursday! ♪～(´ε｀ )


Our aim - To raise funds to hosts activities for MCKL Students! What you buy from us, you'll reap the harvest in the form of knowledge, cool experiences and most of all endless fun! ( ´∀｀)

ALL students are welcome to join our festival start from 22 August at 8am!
Drop by at the Agora and have a taste on the delicious mashed potatoes for only RM3!ヽ(^o^)丿


We will also offer u some Choco-bananas+mashmallows also at only RM3!　Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟﾉ)ﾉ

Perseids Meteor Shower Star PARTAY!!!!

I realized that no one posting information about this in our blog O_o
so i'm doing it now XD
(actually just copy and paste what we had from Facebook)

A brief introduction about this event:

A meteor shower/流星雨/hujan tahi bintang is a natural phenomena that occurs several times each year, annually. By frequency the most visible ones are the Perseids (this one) and the Geminids (in December).

So our stargazer club decided to have make a outing for this wonderful event.　ヽ(^。^)ノ
We are going to KAJANG this FRIDAY (12082011), and coming back on SATURDAY(13082011).

The accurate location should be

Kajang (near Giant hypermart in Taman Prima Saujana)

Things to bring:
Take note that this will be an overnight trip. Bring along your usual sleepover kit along with : -
1. mosquito repellants
2. star charts (if got)
3. Camera (if got, especially DSLR owners)
4. binoculars (if got, no matter what model how big how small)
5. Telescopes (if got!!)

Obviously i no telescope and binoculars...camera i have a lousy one (゜レ゜) OMG. how?

And about the transport (only for MCKL):
Transport still in process.... take note that you may need to take the KTM train to Kajang or Serdang first. Drivers are most welcomed and encouraged to fetch fellow attendees. There are currently no buses to my knowledge that serves that area.

HOWEVER,
the meteor shower is in a full moon night, that means the meteors seen are greatly reduced. To make it up we will have scopes that focus on Saturn, Jupiter, moon, M's (what is this? O.o) and such... IF you're expecting starry meteor night this is not the year (every 3 years there will be a year which all the major showers are in Full Moon)

Despite of this, we still hope that most of you can come! Just indulge in the night sky and enjoy the occasional meteors, watch Saturn and Jupiter or just see the constellations for real! （＾ω＾）
