Heliophysics!

Sorry for my delay OTL

We held our meeting at Room 1.9 again last Thursday キャァ♪(*ノ∀ノ)
As usual the moment i get in to the room the meeting had already started Orz
(It was 5pm by the way DX)

Appearently we are having a few projects to do:
1. heliophysics
2. water rocket
3. Outing to Bukit Tinggi

Under heliophysics we gonna make 3D glasses too! (which will be tomorrow XD) We may have an outing to National Planetarium or the Space Science laboratory, UM ( ^ω^)

About the water rocket, yeah , we plan to make a real water rocket of course!
More information about this will be announced.... Let's wait for Mr. president ┬|`∀´)Ψヶヶヶ

Outing!!! We gonna make it in November! Not December because most of us will be not in KL anymore つД`)・゚・。・゚゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚
The date is still unknown, basically it will be a 3D2N trip to Bukit Tinggi!
Personally I am quite looking forward to it since I missed the meteor shower (´。・ω・。`)シクシク
AND the even the event on 10th Dec I cant make it.... my air ticket back to Sandakan was booked on 9th =="
I called my mom right after i knew about the event but my mom was like "WHAT? I JUST BOOKED YOUR TICKET THIS MORNING!!!" ZZzzz

Well forget about it. LOL
The festival had ended and we have moved on to a new topic!
Here is it: Heliophysics!!!

So what is heliophysics?
It's a system approach to space science that included all of the linked phenomena in a region of the cosmos influenced by a star such as, our Sun!
It's also a course of study that embraces the exploration, discovery and understanding of space environment!

Heliophysics explores the Sun-Solar System Connection and is a relatively new discipline.
It generalizes of the study of "space weather" to the whole Solar System and spans several
existing disciplines – solar physics, heliospheric physics, and planetary magnetospheric
and ionospheric physics.

Here is an introdcution video of heliophysics for NASA (・∀・)

Mr. President had started to explain to us Ψ(`∀´)Ψhehehe

The picture on the slide --- if we look into it with a 3D glasses, the sun will appear 3D as well!

And of course we are concentrating to what he is trying to explaining... err, I think Ferdous was busy with money matters. XP

At the same time Adrian is trying to explain too!(´∀`)

Well, here are some general knowledge about the heliophysics.

1. Heliosphere

First of all, what is plasma?
In physics and chemistry, plasma is a state of matter similar to gas in which a certain portion of the particles are ionized. Heating a gas may ionize (reduce the number of electrons in) its molecules or atoms, thus turning it into a plasma, which contains charged particles: positive ions and negative electrons.

Plasmas and their embedded magnetic fields affect the formation, evolution and destiny of planets and planetary systems. The heliosphere shields the solar system from galactic cosmic radiation. Our habitable planet is shielded by its magnetic fi eld, protecting it from solar and cosmic particle radiation and from erosion of the atmosphere by the solar wind. Planets without a shielding magnetic field, such as Mars and Venus, are exposed to those processes and evolve differently.

The solar wind, where it meets the local interstellar medium (LISM), forms boundaries that protect the planets from the galactic environment. The interstellar interaction depends on the raw pressure of the solar wind and the properties of the local interstellar medium (density, pressure, magnetic field, and bulk flow). These properties, particularly those of the LISM, change over the course of time, and change dramatically on long time scales (1,000 years and longer) as the solar system encounters interstellar clouds.

Planetary systems form in disks of gas and dust around young stars. Stellar ultraviolet emission, winds, and energetic particles alter this process, both in the internal structure of the disk and its interaction with its parent star.

In astronomy , the interstellar medium (or ISM) is the matter that exists in the space between the star systems in a galaxy. This matter includes gasin ionic, atmoic, and molecular form, dust, and cosmic rays. It fills interstellar space and blends smoothly into the surrounding intergalactic space. The energy that occupies the same volume, in the form of electromagnetic radiation, is the interstellar radiation field.

What is magnetosphere then?

A magnetosphere is formed when a stream of charged particles, such as the solar wind, interacts with and is deflected by the intrinsic magnetic field of a planet or similar body.

OK.... so there are some information about heliophysics.
more will be coming! XD

Example: 太陽は地球より大きです。(taiyou wa chikyuu yori ooki desu) The Sun is bigger than the Earth.
